Legal Stuff
Boats
- USCG-approved personal flotation devices (PFD) must be worn at all times while using our boats.
- You must be 21 years old to rent our boats.
- A damage deposit is required.
- Our boats have a geo-fence perimeter of allowable travel area.
- A daily return-to-port time will be established at time of rental. If the boat is overdue, local search-and-rescue authorities will be pre-notified, and if the boat is still missing 2 hours after the established return time, the US Coast Guard will be notified. Any charges incurred due to the enforcement of this policy are the sole responsibility of the renter.
- A post-rental inspection will be made with the renter present. If damage is discovered, the renter is liable for the cost of repair or replacement of any parts of the motor and/or hull.
Paddlecraft
- USCG-approved personal flotation devices (PFD) are required to be worn at all times while using our paddlecraft.
- You are responsible for knowing your route and expected weather conditions, and using our equipment safely.
- A damage deposit is required. If damage is discovered on our post-trip inspection, you will be liable for the costs of repair or replacement.
- A 2-hour return window is provided. If, after 2 hours, the renter has not returned, law enforcement and/or search and rescue authorities will be notified. The renter is liable for any costs incurred as a result.
Camping Gear
- A damage deposit is required. If damage to any equipment is discovered upon the post-trip inspection, the renter is liable for costs for repair or replacement of items. Equipment does sometimes malfunction in the field. The outfitter is not liable for any injury or damage to personal items that may result. Use all equipment according to instructions (provided with equipment).
- A 2-hour return window is provided. If, after 2 hours, the renter has not returned with the equipment, law enforcement and/or search and rescue will be notified. The renter is liable for any costs incurred as a result.
Outboard Motors
- A damage deposit is required. If, upon post-rental inspection, damage is discovered, the renter is liable for costs of repair/replacement.
- The renter will be instructed in operating procedures at time of rental. Equipment does sometimes malfunction in the field. The outfitter is not liable for any injury or damage incurred as a result of equipment malfunction. It is advisable to have an alternate source of propulsion (oars, paddles) with any watercraft in case of motor malfunction. These items are available for rent at a small extra fee.
- A 2 hour return window is provided. If the equipment is not returned within this time frame, law enforcement and/or search and rescue will be notified. The renter is liable for any costs incurred as a result.
